“PRETTY IN PINK” - FUN AND FLIRTY ROSÉ WINES

15 March 2012, SINGAPORE – Throughout the month of April, Fandango Tapas and Wine Bar will be “Pretty in Pink” with an exciting wine promotion introducing a selection of fun and flirty rosé sparkling and still wines. This is, admittedly, one for the ladies.

Fandango will feature a wide selection of rosé wines including a Champagne, a Spanish Cava, a Pink Moscato, a Lambrusco Rosato and a Zibibbo Rosa. All the wines will be available by the glass so you can try a few until you find your favourite “pink” wine. The full wine list for this promotion is attached.

Whether it’s rosé (France), rosado (Spain), rosato (Italy) or blush – these terms all refer to pink wine. This pink shade can range from a soft, subtle hue to a vibrant, hot pink depending on the grape used and how long the grape skins were in contact with the juice. The flavours of rosé wines tend to be more subtle versions of their red wine varietal counterparts. The fruit expectations lean towards strawberry, cherry, and raspberry with some citrus and watermelon.

Rosés are perfect for hot weather, as they are served chilled and can be a refreshing accompaniment to a variety of warm weather fare. Rosé wines also top the charts for food-friendly versatility, so when you are dining “tapas-style” at Fandango you can rest assured that a rosé wine can handle both the seafood and the meat in one fell sip.

Fandango offers an eclectic and exciting food menu featuring both traditional Spanish tapas as well as our signature Asian fusion menu which is served in the ‘tapas’ style. Expect to see classic Spanish tapas dishes, such as Albondigas and Gambas al Ajillo, and tapas-styled dishes from many other cuisines, like Calamari with Mango Mayo and Asian Pork Patties with Black Pepper Sauce featured on the menu.

We would be delighted to entertain you at Fandango and show off these beautiful pink wines. Please call Emma on 8383 9615 to arrange an appointment for a tasting or photo-shoot.

Fandango Tapas and Wine Bar is a modern twist on the traditional Spanish ‘tapas’ concept. We pride ourselves on our eclectic menu, serving both traditional Spanish tapas and excitingly diverse dishes from around the world, all served in the ‘tapas’ style. Much like Singapore itself, Fandango is a melting pot of wonderful culinary styles and flavours, and we don’t let a little thing like ‘geography’ come between us and our favourite dishes.

Our wine list is extensive with sixty labels from around the world, and features twenty wines which are available ‘by the glass’ so you can try something new every time you visit. We use only Riedel crystal wine glasses to ensure every glass of wine is a wonderful experience.

FANDANGO OPENS AT CHIJMES

“Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy.” – Benjamin Franklin

Fandango offers an eclectic and exciting menu featuring both traditional Spanish tapas as well as our signature Asian fusion menu which is served in the ‘tapas’ style. Our menu complements an extensive and original selection of wines.

Fandango has al fresco seating areas to the front and rear of the restaurant with ample seating and shade within the tranquil environs of Chijmes. The interior features dramatic oil paintings in the style of Pedro Alvarez, and the mood is set by the sounds of lounge, chill and dance music.

You will be surprised and delighted when a single glass of wine turns into an evening of great food, fabulous wine and animated conversation in the stylish environment that is Fandango.

About Us
Fandango was conceived by Emma Sebrof, a long standing member of the food and beverage industry in Asia. Emma gained a foothold in hospitality in Hong Kong, where she managed many restaurants for the Eclipse Management group including BOCA Tapas and Wine and the Caramba and Coyote Mexican restaurants. Emma moved to Singapore in 2008, when she helped establish and run the piano bar Howl at the Moon at Peranakan Place. She spent the past two years working as the Group General Manager for five pubs under the Gaelic Inns brand including Muddy Murphy’s and The Penny Black.  Fandango at Chijmes is the latest bar Emma has opened and is the realization of a long time dream of owning her own bar and restaurant.

Wine Selection
Fandango’s extensive and varied wine list comprises up to sixty of our personally selected wines. A varying selection of twenty of these wines is offered by the glass.

The wine selection represents all major wine producing nations with the exception of France. French wines are left to the French restaurants! Spanish wine producers such as Muga and Marques de Riscal feature prominently, as well as Australian and New Zealand favourites D’Arenberg, Kim Crawford, and Cloudy Bay. Wines from South America also have a place at Fandango, and varietals such as Torrontes, Bonarda and Malbec are on the list from this region. The wine list offers guests an opportunity to try something a little out of the ordinary, and because there are so many wines available by the glass you can dare to be different without the risk of investing in a whole bottle.

Tapas
Tapas at Fandango are a foodies joy and not to be missed. Tasty morsels explode with flavor and have you drooling for more. We’ve priced moderately so that you can experience the variety of our tapas.

We aren’t bound by geography either. Both classic Spanish tapas dishes, such as Albondigas and Gambas al Ajillo, and tapas-styled dishes from many other cuisines, like Egg Tofu with Prawns, Calamari with Mango Mayo and Asian Pork Patties with Black Pepper Sauce are featured on the menu. These “Tapas with a Twist” are served alongside the traditional dishes, just order as your mood takes you.

Whether you choose to dine in or simply relax with a drink, you will have a wonderful time at Fandango. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
