La Barca Receives Award of Excellence

26 May 2012, SINGAPORE – La Barca Ristorante & Wine Bar has received an Award Of Excellence for ‘Best New Restaurant, Western’ by The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel “G Restaurant Awards 2012”. “We are so happy to be recognized in such a prestigious manner” said chef Michele Sorrentino.

“We are very proud of our efforts. We have strived to position La Barca as an upmarket, yet casual restaurant. I want everyone to be able to experience my food, so we have a fine dining menu in the evening, hearty good food for lunch at a reasonable price and family brunches on the weekends,” continued Sorrentino.

“Our menu is designed to make all of our customers happy. We have people coming from the CBD during the week for lunch, those who prefer to escape the crowded inner city and discuss work in a relaxed manner. They only have a short drive to enjoy a delicious set lunch in quiet surroundings. We have couples and groups who want a romantic dinner in the evening,  and then on the weekends we have parents who want a leisurely family meal and to enjoy a glass of wine while their children play happily in the grounds.  The new parking arrangements have pleased the customers too!”

La Barca offers complimentary parking for guests at Block C, Goodman Arts Centre. Taxis may also drop off and pick up passengers at the same car park, which is beside the restaurant’s entrance

La Barca Ristorante & Wine Bar is owned and operated by Chef Michele Sorrentino and Christopher Tung. It is situated at the Goodman Arts Centre on the East Coast of Singapore. La Barca is so called because of it’s shape, which is reminiscent of a boat. The restaurant has recently been recognised with an Award of Excellence for Best Restaurant, Western in The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel “G Restaurant Awards 2012” , a supplement to The Peak Singapore magazine.
